Greetings Associates of the Sweet Sweet Southeastern Region,
It gives me great pleasure to serve you as the Associate Chair for this program year. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is one of the organizations I hold dear to my heart. Being a legacy of this wonderful organization makes me excited and honored that I have this opportunity to continue as an associate with Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
We as members should always remember what inspired our founder Marion Stubbs Turner for organizing our wonderful organization. She states it best, “To us as mothers, it [Jack and Jill] has become a means of furthering an inherent and natural desire ...to bestow upon our children all the opportunities possible for a normal and graceful approach to a beautiful adulthood.” As associates we are continuing to contribute to this “legacy” while maintaining the friendships we made over the years as members of our local chapters, attending Regional Workdays, Clusters, Conferences and National Conventions. You can say that our friendships have developed a great “sisterhood” of mothers.
As associates, we look forward to assisting our local chapters in the capacity of our Jack and Jill experience, knowledge and mentoring. We can also assist by being available to our local chapters for planning any of their Jack and Jill events.
The associates’ national project Mother’s Away From Home has some modifications that we are working on and we will keep you abreast of that progress. We will be able to embrace our college students at anytime with an “Open Enrollment” instead of having to adhere to deadlines. I’m excited and when you see the small changes that have been made, I hope you will be too! I am asking all chapters to be prepared to help us embrace our college students.
Another bit of good news is that any chapter who has not organized an associate group, we have been granted a waiver on late charges after the October 31st deadline. This extension only applies if you are organizing a group. I hope this will encourage your chapter to get their group organized.
I would like for the wonderful associates of the Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region to know I am here for you at anytime. May you and your family be blessed with continuous love, health and prosperity.
Sisterly Submitted,
