Welcome to the Sensational South Central Region,
The region spans membership in the states of Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas. We represent over 1000 families focused on enhancing the lives of all children. This is accomplished by creating strong networks of families in particular mothers and children. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. continues to be a vital organization reaching out to serve our local communities. As we embark on our journey to building stronger families in the South Central Region, we travel down the road of exceptional leaders and talented women committed to the goals and ideals of this organization. It is with in mind that we move into another program year. Our goals and objectives are in place. We have renewed energy and strength to make children programming an exciting and wonderful experience for our families.
The newly elected regional team would like to extend our sincere thanks for your support and patience as we work to bring you excellence in Jack and Jill leadership. I am personally delighted and committed to serving as your Regional Director for the next two years. Smart work and dedication are what I believe will keep our region moving forward. To this end, you will be introduced to a new concept… “Jack and Jill Centers of Excellence.” This is a regional thrust concept designed to help maximize chapter work across our region. These centers will focus on networking not only as support, but also strengthening our community impact, benchmarking chapter best practices and maximizing our economic base in the communities we serve. Look for more to come in the months ahead.
In addition, regional committees will begin to meet at selected intervals throughout the program year. The committees will focus on implementing and realizing actionable items developed and reported at our conferences. It will take all of us working together to ensure that we keep the momentum and excitement about building our region in between conferences. The committee work is just one aspect of our journey. Each and every officer and committee will be structured to provide solid excellence in Jack and Jill, in particular excellence in leading the South Central Region.
I know you all are ready to believe in the wonderful possibilities we can each contribute to our Sensational Region. I see it in the excitement the Beaumont members are using to plan Area Work Day 2007; I see it in the Mothers of the Baton Rouge Chapter who are planning Teen Conference 2008 and lastly, I see it in the eyes of our beautiful children who look to us to provide hope, guidance, love and play.
