Greetings to the Mighty Mid-Western Region,

Thank you for your continued support of my efforts to serve you as the Mid-Western Region Secretary-Treasurer for 2007-2009. It was truly a pleasure meeting many of you at the Michigan/Ohio cluster hosted by the Greater Lansing Chapter and the Illinois Area Cluster hosted by the Indianapolis Chapter.

We are off to a great start for this program year. Let me first say congratulations for exceeding the expectation for Per Capita submission. I am also excited about establishing a best practice committee to create standardized financial documents for chapter use. I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you the key information shared at the cluster during the financial workshops.

Integrity of Accounting for all Financial Officers

Income and expenditures must be carefully accounted for so as not to jeopardize the organization’s tax exempt status and to maintain credibility with our membership and the public.

Membership Financial Responsibility

Support Financial Officers with Cooperation and Appreciation
Follow financial policies and procedures of the organization
Present vouchers with receipts for reimbursement
Practice Timely Payment (Chapter Dues, Assessments, etc.)
Provide Friendly and Objective Input
Remember we are here "For the Children"

Important Financial Dates

October 31st – Deadline for receipt of Regional and National Per Capita; and Bonding Fee (National)
January 31st – Deadline for submission of Legacy Requests
April 11th – Deadline for receipt of Teen Conference Fee
May 15th – Deadline for receipt of Foundation contribution (Mother’s and Teens)
May 31st – Deadline for receipt of New Member and Teen Joining Fee (National and Regional) and Headquarters Assessment Fee (National)
June 15th – Deadline for receipt of Chapter Officers and Contact Reports
June 15th - Deadline for receipt of New Member and Teen Per Capita Fees (National and Regional)
June 30th – Deadline for receipt of End of Year Chapter Reports (late penalty applies)
August 31st – Deadline for receipt of Annual Audit Reports
