Habari Gani,
I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to once again serve Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, this time, as the Central Region Associate Chairman. Having served as Central Region Director and National Program Director I am looking forward to my new position, transitioning into the highly acclaimed associate status. This is a marvelous time for me because my fourth and last child has graduated from high school and, as all of us hope to finally achieve, I have the opportunity to finally spread my wings in new directions. My past experience and fond memories in Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will allow me the pleasure to strengthen and enliven the role of associate membership in our region and across the country.
There are many areas as Associates that we can still contribute to this organization and the well being of African-American children and families. My plans are to build a strong Associate Network throughout our region, develop a programmatic thrust for associate membership, design new initiatives for leadership development for our teens and of course have some fun.
I will personally be in contact with all associate members as Central Region embarks on the challenges of a successful program year. As we implement our clusters, teen conference and mothers’ regional conference I am confident that in the Central Region the Associates will have a definite and strong impact.
Graciously,
Karen M. Clark
