Dear Mothers,
I can hardly believe the summer is over. We have concluded our Teen and Mother’s Conferences. Most ‘End of Year Reports’ are complete and we are working to summarize all the information your chapter financial officers have sent us as we prepare our 990 Internal Revenue forms. Please provide any additional information requested by our Headquarters Staff as we work to complete these reports. The Secretary-Treasurers and I continue to work tirelessly to train the financial officers of this wonderful organization. It is essential that our elected officers on all levels understand their financial responsibility. Please let us hear from you when you have questions, need assistance, or can offer input.
Per Capita is upon us. Please send in your chapter checks and member information in a timely manner so that you can avoid that hefty $100 penalty. As a friendly reminder, Associate per capita is also due October 31, 2007. If you must send in your per capita late, include the $100 late penalty per report.
Your National Executive Board has been working diligently to provide our Mothers and chapters with the support and funds needed to function in our communities. As we all know, money helps. Your NEB continues to be fiscally responsible. The pie chart below highlights our spending trends. It demonstrates that we spent 45% of our funds on the operation of our Headquarters, staffing and office expenses. Our Meeting and Organization Maintenance budgeted line items reflect officer training, programming expenditures for our Children, and the $59,000 spent to pay obligations from the 2004-06 NEB. We continue to operate below the budgeted line allocation as we conservatively manage this organization’s funds. Maximizing on current short term interest rates by depositing $300,000.00 in a short term CD has increased our interest earned income by 400%. As you can see, we are making every effort to manage your dollars efficiently and spend your funds economically.
Your National Executive Board has taken action on several members of the past Board for failure to provide documentation essential for the completion of the 2004-06 Audit. We appreciate your continued patience and prayers.
